With over 35 years in corporate and marketing communications, Doris is an advocate of Public Relations as a management discipline imbued with nation-building intent, and mutual collaboration for the greater societal good.
She has been privileged to have served diverse clients, large and small, multinational and local, combining international expertise with sound knowledge and a firm understanding of the operating business environment.
From a spectrum of Corporate Communications, MARCOM-IMC, Investor Relations, CSR-Sustainability and Issues-Crisis Management tasks, she has been involved in bank and insurance mergers, financial restructurings, pharmaceutical, plantation and manufacturing industries too. She has produced and scripted for “On Track”, a magazine format television programme for RTM 2, English Channel.
As Vice President of the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM), she promotes Accreditation and Continuing Professional Education, fostering best practices and advancing professional standards in the industry. She has also served as a judge for the National Annual Corporate Report Awards (NACRA), championing excellence in corporate governance, financial disclosure, and sustainability reporting.
A dedicated advocate for professional development, Doris conducts training programmes on crisis communication, ESG and stakeholder engagement. She also guest lectured at education institutions like Taylor’s University, Monash Malaysia, HELP and KDU, bridging academic insights with real-world applications to prepare future PR practitioners for the evolving demands of the communications industry.
Doris holds a Master’s in Communications Management (University of South Australia) and a Bachelor’s in Economics and Business Administration (University of Malaya). Beyond her professional commitments, she is involved in Soroptimist International, driving women’s development and empowerment projects that have been recognised at both regional and UN levels.
